My go-to approach for helping people in couples/marriage counseling is through collaboration and healthy listening. I find the best benefit in helping couples express themselves in a healthy way and feel heard and responded to appropriately so that they feel their needs are being attended to and their feelings are important.
I teach the following tools in couples/marriage counseling: self-expression, healthy listening, empathy, relatability, de-escalation, anger management, intimacy, understanding, parenting skills, etc.
