Evidence-based therapy (EBT) is scientifically proven to be effective. Thriveworks employs only evidence-based therapies, including Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), Motivational interviewing, and more.
Evidence-based therapy (EBT) works to help people through a wide range of mental health challenges from anxiety to depression, stress, relationship issues, and more. Many different therapeutic techniques can be utilized to help the given client find success in addressing their needs and achieving their goals for therapy.
Evidence-based therapy (EBT) at Thriveworks is conducted both in person and online by video. We encourage you to choose the option that works best for you.
Evidence-based therapy (EBT) with our Thriveworks therapists in Blacksburg, VA can be short- or long-term, dependent upon the specific type of therapy as well as the client’s needs.
Are you suffering from symptoms of a mental health condition? Are struggling with relationship issues? If you’re experiencing any number of mental health challenges, please consider reaching out for help. Thriveworks Blacksburg offers evidence-based therapy, and we would love to help you. Contact us today to schedule your first appointment.
Evidence-based therapy (EBT), is any therapy based on psychological approaches and techniques that are based on scientific evidence. Evidence-Based Therapy is considered “Best Practice” and is the preferred approach for psychological symptom treatment by many in the field.
Evidence-Based Therapy takes into consideration a client’s preferences, actions, clinical state, and circumstances. It can be summed up by saying that evidence-based therapy refers to psychotherapy practices which have been proven effective rather than those purely based in theory.
When it comes to any sort of mental health or physical health treatment plan, it is crucial for the techniques used to not only be evidence-based, but to be continually evaluated and re-evaluated for efficacy. The evidence-based therapy movement is one that centers the patient’s needs. Further, research indicates that for a therapist to be effective in the use of Evidence-Based Therapy as an approach, the therapist should be (a) well trained (b) caring and empathetic, and (c) rely on scientific evidence to guide their therapy/treatment plans. Our counselors at Thriveworks Blacksburg meet all of these qualifications and more.
It is important to understand that not all mental health treatments are equally effective for every individual client, and you should keep this in mind when searching for a therapist. In other words, some therapies may work better for some mental health issues than others; some therapies work better for some individuals than others. If you have a trusting and comfortable relationship with your therapist, you can be assured that he/she is using the approach and treatment plan that he/she deems best for you and your specific situation.
You can trust the clinicians at Thriveworks Blacksburg to work with you towards healing and wellness in the way they feel will best help you reach those goals!
