My go-to approach for helping people in cognitive behavioral therapy is to identify their core beliefs that develop in childhood and result in repetitive negative and irrational thoughts, as they can often be the root cause of mental health issues like anxiety and depression. I find the best benefit in using a trauma-informed lens because it addresses the unresolved issues that contribute to various mental health disorders.

I know a client is making meaningful progress in CBT when their symptoms begin to decrease and functioning is increasing.
Clients will have homework assignments and will actively be engaging in CBT in between sessions. Psychoeducation will be provided in sessions, and the client will be engaging in the modality in order to work on decreasing symptoms.

For psychiatry services, self-pay intake sessions are $255–$375, with follow-ups ranging from $175–$300, also varying by state. The selection between cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and Dialectical behavior therapy (DBT) is based on an individual’s unique needs and challenges. CBT is commonly chosen for addressing conditions such as anxiety and depression, whereas DBT is especially beneficial for individuals dealing with borderline personality disorder, emotional regulation issues, and difficulties in interpersonal relationships.
