My go-to approach for treating patients with depression is first and foremost ensuring their safety and symptom severity. Working in conjunction with a psychiatrist or nurse practitioner is preferred.
One tool that can be effective in depression counseling is symptom monitoring. CBT is also used frequently for depression.
