About
Everyone can use guidance from time to time. As a therapist with over 15 years of experience, I look forward to working with people to overcome challenges, navigate issues, and engage in self-exploration.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with 15 years of experience in inpatient, outpatient, and private practice settings. I specialize in depression, anxiety, addictions, low self-esteem, mood and personality disorders, and trauma. I work with adolescents, adults, and professionals, offering steady, practical support that helps you feel understood and move forward.
I earned a Master’s in Clinical Counseling and Health Psychology from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. My approach is trauma-informed and collaborative, drawing from cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, motivational interviewing, and psychodynamic/psychoanalytic perspectives.
I believe therapy should be a clear path toward change. Together we’ll navigate challenges, clarify goals, and build skills so you can live the life you want. If you’re ready to tap your inner strength and create lasting progress, I’d be honored to work with you.

Yes, we offer comprehensive psychiatric services to meet your mental health needs.
Psychiatry allows people struggling to manage mental conditions or disorders to get access to medications that will make daily functioning easier, as well as work through any mental factors that might be causing or worsening their condition. Though medications can’t cure mental disorders, medication can make symptoms more manageable, making the process of psychotherapeutic treatment easier and more effective. Psychiatric care can be available through in-person psychiatry and online psychiatry, depending on where you live and your own preferences. However, psychiatric providers at Thriveworks in Philadelphia, PA specifically offer online psychiatry to their clients.
A therapist has an education specifically rooted in therapeutic practice, approaches, techniques, and treatment. They cannot prescribe medications for clients, though they often refer clients to psychiatrists for medication management. Psychiatrists are medically trained doctors who specialize in mental health treatment, mainly through medication management and prescription, though they can also practice therapy.
A Psychiatry Nurse Practitioner (NP) is a highly trained and licensed professional who specializes in mental health care. They are qualified to diagnose and treat mental health conditions, prescribe medications, and provide therapy. Psychiatric NPs at Thriveworks are qualified to prescribe medications for a variety of mental health conditions. They work closely with you to develop a personalized treatment plan.
Oftentimes, psychiatrists or psychiatric professionals will perform a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, which involves an in-depth discussion about your symptoms, medical history, and current medications. Once they reach a diagnosis, they may suggest starting certain medications depending on your condition and the intensity of your symptoms.
Yes. At Thriveworks, we offer online-only psychiatry services for optimal comfort and convenience.
Psychiatric services at Thriveworks Philadelphia can last for as little or as much time as the client needs to reach their treatment goals, whether that be a month or two or over the course of a year. Treatment length is heavily dependent on the condition(s) being treated, the course of treatment, and the client’s goals for treatment.
Psychiatrists are mental health professionals who can prescribe anxiety medication and provide therapeutic treatment for anxiety, although not all psychiatrists offer therapy. At Thriveworks, medication management occurs via online psychiatry sessions.

When you start thinking about getting mental health help, you might be wondering what kind of mental health professional will be the best fit for you. Depending on what you’re facing, psychiatrists or other psychiatric providers might be your best option.
People often wonder what the difference is between a psychiatric provider and a psychologist. They are two of the most common professionals in the mental health field. Here’s how they differ:
Both professionals understand the thoughts, feelings, and emotions that people experience and are able to treat mental illnesses and disorders. If you’re experiencing a mental disorder that could benefit from taking medication, working with a psychiatric provider might be the best fit for you and your needs. In some cases, you might even work with both a psychologist and a psychiatric provider.
We briefly touched on the stigmas surrounding mental health care earlier. In addition to there being a “weak” connotation surrounding professional help, people also assume that only the most severe mental illnesses could benefit from working with a psychiatrist or taking a prescription medication. However, that’s not the case.
Psychiatric providers are highly qualified to diagnose, treat, manage, and even prevent problems and challenges related to mental wellbeing. At Thriveworks in Philadelphia, our psychiatric providers can work with you regardless of having mild or severe symptoms. Also, they can work through a broad range of mental health conditions such as:
In some cases, you might not know exactly what you’re experiencing. Your Thriveworks psychiatric provider will be able to identify the root cause of the challenges you are experiencing and help you get back on track to living happy and healthy.
Taking the next step and pursuing professional mental health help isn’t always an easy decision. However, it is a smart one. When you choose to work with a psychiatric provider at Thriveworks Counseling in Philadelphia, PA, you’re choosing well-rounded, compassionate, and accessible help.
