Yes, we offer comprehensive psychiatric services to meet your mental health needs.
Psychiatry allows people struggling to manage mental conditions or disorders to get access to medications that will make daily functioning easier, as well as work through any mental factors that might be causing or worsening their condition. Though medications can’t cure mental disorders, medication can make symptoms more manageable, making the process of psychotherapeutic treatment easier and more effective. Psychiatric care can be available through in-person psychiatry and online psychiatry, depending on where you live and your own preferences. However, psychiatric providers at Thriveworks in Reston, VA specifically offer online psychiatry to their clients.
A therapist has an education specifically rooted in therapeutic practice, approaches, techniques, and treatment. They cannot prescribe medications for clients, though they often refer clients to psychiatrists for medication management. Psychiatrists are medically trained doctors who specialize in mental health treatment, mainly through medication management and prescription, though they can also practice therapy.
A Psychiatry Nurse Practitioner (NP) is a highly trained and licensed professional who specializes in mental health care. They are qualified to diagnose and treat mental health conditions, prescribe medications, and provide therapy. Psychiatric NPs at Thriveworks are qualified to prescribe medications for a variety of mental health conditions. They work closely with you to develop a personalized treatment plan.
Oftentimes, psychiatrists or psychiatric professionals will perform a comprehensive psychiatric evaluation, which involves an in-depth discussion about your symptoms, medical history, and current medications. Once they reach a diagnosis, they may suggest starting certain medications depending on your condition and the intensity of your symptoms.
Yes. At Thriveworks, we offer online-only psychiatry services for optimal comfort and convenience.
Psychiatric services at Thriveworks Reston can last for as little or as much time as the client needs to reach their treatment goals, whether that be a month or two or over the course of a year. Treatment length is heavily dependent on the condition(s) being treated, the course of treatment, and the client’s goals for treatment.
Psychiatrists are mental health professionals who can prescribe anxiety medication and provide therapeutic treatment for anxiety, although not all psychiatrists offer therapy. At Thriveworks, medication management occurs via online psychiatry sessions.
Yes, Thriveworks accepts most major insurance plans. We strive to make mental health care accessible and affordable for everyone.
Thriveworks Reston Counseling has experienced psychiatric nurse practitioners (NPs) who can provide their clients with effective medication management. Medication management refers to the proper management of one’s medication—pretty self-explanatory, right? The definition is simple, but this service is incredibly important, as those who receive medication management are doing so to manage mental health conditions properly. For example, one might be suffering from:
In all of these scenarios, an online psychiatric NP can prove helpful if the individual determines a need or benefit in taking medication for their illness. If you’d like to talk to someone about starting a medication due to symptoms of a mental health condition, we’re here for you. We can help you figure out what treatment will work best for you, and if that involves medication management, we can provide you with these services. Our online psychiatric NP would be happy to work with you.
Thriveworks Reston Counseling doesn’t just offer mental health services. We offer premium benefits that most people can’t find anywhere else. The 3 main benefits are:
At Thriveworks Reston, we only work with the best of the best professionals (we meant it when we said it earlier!). Our online NPs offer high-quality, quick care. In other words, they always have your best interest in mind, and they can often see you within 7 days of your initial call. If you reside in the state of VA, Thriveworks Reston online psychiatric NPs can help.
Second, we accept most major insurance plans. We know that payment is a super important topic. And we want our services to be available and obtainable. For this reason, we make sure that our providers accept as many insurance plans as possible. In addition, we offer self-pay rates, if by chance the provider you’d like to work with does not take your insurance.
Also, here at Thriveworks Reston, we understand that the weekly daytime sessions don’t always work. They rarely work and are almost always inconvenient! That’s why we prioritize flexibility and demonstrate this priority in our many counseling options. Our clients get to choose between flexible appointments, including evening and weekend sessions. In addition, we have both in-person and online counseling available.
We understand that searching for psychiatry services can be frustrating and stressful. We want to put an end to this frustrating and stressful search. If you are looking for medication management services, counseling, or both, consider working with a Thriveworks Reston online psychiatric NP.
We’re here to help you when you need it. Just contact our office to schedule your appointment, by calling (703) 348-5217. We look forward to it!
