I am a counselor who sees the importance in understanding the nuance behind every person's history, experience, and background that has helped shape them into the person they are today.
Katherine “Katie” Blackley is a Licensed Professional Counselor with 3 years of experience in the field. Her primary focuses are identity issues, life transitions, family and relationship issues, trauma, grief, and mood disorders. She has completed additional training programs focused on counseling family members of people with terminal illnesses. Katie also has a passion for working with members of the LGBTQ+ community and has experience working with people of all age groups.
Katie received her Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Winthrop University. Her counseling approach combines cognitive behavioral therapy and a person-centered approach. Depending on the client's needs, she also utilizes narrative therapy, attachment theory, internal family systems therapy, and play therapy for young children ages 4-12.
