The number of life coaching sessions someone attends can differ based on the coach and the client’s choices. How many sessions are needed and how often they occur often hinges on the client’s objectives and the complexity of their concerns. Some clients might opt for a few sessions to tackle particular goals or issues, while others may decide on ongoing coaching sessions to work on personal growth and life enhancement over a more extended period of time. Thriveworks The Woodlands therapists work with clients to create goals and potential timelines for treatment.

Life coaching is a newer faction of counseling that many people have found beneficial in the last few decades. While there are many similarities between life coaching and counseling, they are not the same.
First, the similarities: Both aim at progressing you to a healthier and happier life. Both require licenses and/or certifications (of which The Woodlands life coaches and counselors have). And in both, our counselors will work with you to teach you tools that will help you lead a healthier physical, mental, and emotional lifestyle.
The differences between life coaching and counseling are simply where you start. Counseling focuses on healing. Life coaching focuses on reaching untapped potential. For example, an athlete would see a physical therapist if she tore a muscle. The muscle needs time to heal before it can strengthen. This is like counseling. However, if she was already healthy and just wanted to improve her athleticism, she would see a personal trainer. This is like life coaching.
One of the beautiful things about life coaching is that it is an incredibly broad session topic. The Woodlands life coaches leave lots of room for you to bring in whatever goals, dreams, concerns, or doubts you have. There is nothing too big or too small for a Woodlands life coach. If our discussions stray into the realm of counseling, that’s okay! Our life coaches are trained in both.
Commonly addressed topics include:
There is no one way to live our life, but too often we get sucked into the preprogrammed lifestyle. Life coaching gives you the power to create your own life, whatever that looks like. So, wherever you are in your journey, Thriveworks The Woodlands is excited to meet you and be apart of it.
At the heart of every life coaching session will be self-reflection. It’s easier to know your path when you know yourself, and all those small steps are what will carry you to your mountain peak. A few more specific examples of what to expect from The Woodlands life coaching sessions include:
